Authentic Japanese resto in Blok M. Foods were okay but missing the wow factor for me. Pretty decent option for lunch or dinner around the area.

Hiya Yakko (35k) 6.5/10
Silky smooth tofu served cold with bonito flakes and green onions. Dip with a bit of soy sauce for a refreshing appetiser.

Galbi (90k) 7/10
Tender beef slices without being too fatty. Felt like they cut the beef too thinly though. Flavour profile was sweeter vs the butabara.

Butabara (68k) 6.5/10
Nice pork belly slices, not too thick but not too thin. Texture was crunchy outside but chewy inside.

Buta Yakimesi (47k) 6.5/10
Pork fried rice that paired well with the kushiyaki and grilled meats. Nicely separated grain and there’s a little bit of smokiness coming through. Decent amount of pork belly strips as well, but I highly dislike how oily it was.

Yakitori Don (68k) 6/10
Include chicken thigh, heart, and skin. Not a big fan of the cuts included, but love the half boiled egg on top. As with all the don, the meat:rice ratio is a a bit off.

Daitokyo Ramen (78k) 6.5/10
Broth was too watery and not rich enough. Felt like eating vegetable ramen instead of pork. Big portions and lots of toppings though. The chasiu slices were really nice.

Tori Karaage (47k) 7/10
Good karaage, very crunchy while meat was still juicy on the inside. They gave you lemon wedge and salt pepper on the side but batter itself was already flavorful enough.
